After “the end of history,” what do post-Communist, post-authoritarian states do with the hundreds, even thousands, of statues and monuments glorifying their former dictators? Countries around the world have handled this in a variety of creative ways, and this booklet introduces briefly the regimes that built these monuments and where they ended up: Lenin’s transformed into Darth Vaders, Stroessner crushed under the weight of his own pedestal, and Chiang Kai Shek’s exiled together in one statue park in the suburbs.
