Frisson’s first issue centered around interviews with two different artists whose works took on different aspects of urban development: one whose sculptures were made entirely with plastic trash picked up on the road and the other whose presents preserved the vernacular architectural elements of Taipei’s shifting urban landscape. Also included were fiction, painting, and poetry from the editors’ close friends. All contributors for the first volume were women, so we decided to make this the standard for the zine from then on.
